Machinists Endorse!

This International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Local 751 announced their endorsement of my candidacy at our kick-off this past Saturday. The endorsement is the first made by IAM Local 751 this election season, as well as the first major labor endorsement made in this campaign.

I was touched by the thoughts shared by IAM Political Director Larry Brown, who said, “I am incredibly proud to announce our support of Chris Reykdal in this race. Organized labor in the state of Washington has been looking for a voice that would stand up on our issues with conviction. We found that voice in Chris Reykdal, who has stood up for working families on both public and workforce education issues. We will work hard to ensure that the 22nd District elects Chris Reykdal this year.”

IAM Local 751 is the largest manufacturing union in the state of Washington. It represents the 45,000 current, retired, and laid-off Boeing Company workers who live in the Puget Sound.

I’m excited to have won the support of Local 751. They join a growing list of community leaders who have endorsed my candidacy. I will be a voice for working families in our district, many of whom share the same fears my family did when I was young. Our leaders delivered for my family, and I pledge to deliver for Thurston County’s families.
