Fire Fighters Stand With Reykdal
Last night, 22nd District House Candidate Chris Reykdal received the endorsement of all four locals of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) in the 22nd District. These IAFF Locals join the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Local 751 and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 612 in their support of Chris Reykdal’s candidacy.
“Our firefighters not only risk their lives to protect each and every one of us, they are also deeply involved in community development through countless volunteer hours. I am truly honored to have received their endorsement in this campaign,” said Reykdal, who serves on the Tumwater School Board and is a former City Planning Commissioner. “In the Legislature, I will work hard to protect the health and pension benefits rightly deserved for firefighters, and all working families across Thurston County. I’m looking forward to teaming with these tremendous organizations as our campaign enters the summer months.”
The four IAFF Locals that have endorsed Chris Reykdal include Local 468 (Olympia), Local 2409 (Tumwater), Local 2903 (Lacey) and Local 3825 (Thurston County). Combined, these locals represent over 220 firefighters across Thurston County.
“We are standing with Chris Reykdal in this campaign because we believe he will fight every day on the issues that matter most to first responders and firefighters in our community,” said Brian Hurley, Executive Board member of the Tumwater Fire Fighters. “We are proud to endorse Chris in his campaign, and intend to work hard to ensure he becomes the next Representative for the 22nd District.”
Since kicking off his campaign in January, over 35 community leaders, local elected officials and State Legislators have endorsed the candidacy of Chris Reykdal to fill the seat being vacated by Representative Brendan Williams.
