A Letter From Olympia School Board President Frank Wilson

Dear friends, supporters, and educators,

In my role as Olympia School Board President, I am in a unique position to meet individuals who champion our K-12 public education system and advocate for student access to public institutions of higher education. One such champion is Chris Reykdal, candidate for retiring Representative Brendan Williams’ 22nd District seat in the State House of Representatives.

Chris was born into a very low-income family that would not have thrived without help from government aided programs that gave them the tools they needed to succeed. He broke the cycle of poverty, in large part, because he had access to a more vibrant and well equipped public education system. It was a communal commitment to public education that allowed Chris to receive a diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, and Master’s Degree, all from publically funded institutions. Now our K-12 system, as well as access to higher education for all students, is threatened by an unstable State budget that must be fixed. Chris has the skills to do just that!

Chris’ commitment to education, and his decade of experience writing and analyzing capital, operating, and transportation budgets, are just some of the many reasons I am supporting his bid for Rep. Williams’ House seat. I believe in his sincere love for and commitment to public education and public service. I am joined in my support of Chris by Rep. Brendan Williams himself; State Superintendent Randy Dorn, Tumwater School Board President Jay Wood, and hundreds of other elected officials and community members.

In addition to my endorsement, I have also contributed to Chris’ campaign. I know first hand the cost of running for public office and want Chris to have the resources he needs to succeed. Please give Chris the same support you gave me! Every contribution matters, regardless of the size. This is an incredibly competitive race that will most likely be decided in the August Primary. Chris needs your help now!

In these difficult economic times, it is the actions we take with our limited resources that will determine our path back to prosperity. A contribution to Chris’ campaign is a contribution that brings our State one step closer to fully funding public education and protecting vital state programs for those most in need!

Thank you,

Frank Wilson
